The Oo-Ray

The Oo-Ray is a raygun invented by Dr. Venture on The Venture Bros.

History

Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture flew to New York City to present his latest invention, The Oo-Ray, at the U.N. Science Expo. The year's theme was "Peace Through Science".

The U.N. Science Director introduced Dr. Venture to the exposition audience and Venture presented the Oo-Ray, a powerful ray beam that fires a series of reddish ringlike energy projections. Dr. Venture proudly aimed The Oo-Ray at a scale model of a metropolitan city and the ray slowly melted it to an unrecognizable lumpy mass. The U.N. Science Director expressed outrage and disappointment in Dr. Venture for bringing a weapon of devastation to a peaceful exhibition of scientific breakthroughs for the betterment of all mankind. Dr. Venture responded with surprise, oblivious to its obvious potential as a weapon.

Japanese CEO and techno-fetishist Otaku Senzuri was caught masturbating in front of the Oo-Ray. He dropped a smoke bomb upon discovery and attempted to escape. However, Hank Venture and Dean Venture spotted him behind a plant, and he was apprehended.

General Manhowers was more impressed with the Oo-Ray than the U.N. Science Director and ordered a hundred of them. Dr. Venture expressed his surprise and bewilderment about the Army's desire for the Oo-Ray, not recognizing its destructive capability, but he was very pleased nonetheless.

• The Oo-Ray emits an "ooooh" noise when in operation.
• The Oo-Ray later made a (possibly non-canon) appearance in the steam game Poker Night at the Inventory 2, appearing among other Venture Bros themed decorations when the player equips all Venture themed unlockables.
• The Oo-Ray is based on the Sonic Projector from Jonny Quest.
