The Nerve is Councilman 12 of the Council of 13. A supervillain who is a sentient nervous system with no body, floating in a transparent humanoid suit. He's very quiet and seemed to avoid socializing with his fellow Council members; but he still goes along when Red Mantle calls him to go out.
History[]
The Nerve is one of the members of the Guild of Calamitous Intent's Council of 13. Little is known about him or his origins. He seems to be somewhat of an introvert, as he claimed to be on the moon in order to avoid having to socialize with the rest of the Council, relying on their thin level of anonymity to cover his deception. However, Red Mantle called him out on it, as everyone on the Council knows who the other members are.
While it is not known, it is possible The Sovereign didn't completely trust his fellow Council members. In "All This and Gargantua-2", before many even made it to their meeting The Sovereign (or the Investors, or perhaps both) arranged for several members to be killed. This could hint, he felt they would abandon/or question his leadership and killed the ones who stood in his way. The Nerve was found by Dermott Fictel in a dumpster, apparently shot twice into his suit, which killed him.
Trivia[]
- The Nerve may have been inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy, Mutagen Man.
- He has a speech impediment.
- In "Bot Seeks Bot", it is revealed that The Nerve's drink of choice is an old fashioned.
