Roy Brisby is a minor character on The Venture Brothers. He is voiced by Christopher McCulloch.
Character History
Roy Brisby is the creator of Bizzy Bee and the Brisbyland franchise. Jonas Venture, Sr. helped build and design many of the attractions and rides at Brisbyland as they were close friends. Roy Brisby's use of a wheel chair, horrific appearance, and constantly clenched jaw are due to a stroke that he suffered while he was caught under a fallen animatronic Abraham Lincoln. Roy credits his longevity to panda milk, which, presumably, he obtains from his Panda Li-Li which he took from David Bowie. He is protected by a gigantic, non-speaking bodyguard named Mandalay.
In The Incredible Mr. Brisby, Roy Brisby invites Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture to Brisbyland in order to get Jonas's notes on cloning technology so he can clone himself. When Rusty denies he knows about cloning, Brisby resorts to blackmailing Rusty by mentioning he knows that Rusty's doctorate is fake, and that he is a broke, failure. Rusty, feeling insulted, rejects Brisbee's request and attempts to leave when Roy kidnaps him and Brock and takes him to the Brisby Dome. There, he explains to Rusty his diabolical plan of "Brisby Life" which is to create an ideal society that is clean and self-sufficient and fill it with clones. Rusty still refuses to go along with his plan and is about to be tortured and forced into it when the dome was attacked by the Orange County Liberation Front along with Brock and Molotov Cocktease. Rusty, with the help of Brock, escapes Roy Brisby's captivity, as Molotov takes Li-Li and returns it to Bowie.
He was seen as a member of an Illuminati-type organization in the episode The Unicorn in Captivity. Although his face was never shown, his voice and silhouette were unmistakable, as was his bee-themed mask and riding about in an electric wheelchair. This was eventually revealed to be a virtual reality generated fantasy to keep Dr. Venture occupied.

Trivia
- Roy Brisby is a parody of Walt Disney. His first name is a reference to Walt's brother and co-founder of Disney, Roy Disney.
- The name "Mr. Brisby" comes from the main character, Mrs. Brisby, from the 1982 film The Secret of Nimh, and sounds enough like "Disney" to make the point. The film was directed by Don Bluth, a former Walt Disney Productions employee who became a competitor in the field of animated films.
- Bizzy Bee is a parody of Mickey Mouse.
- His claim of longevity due to panda milk may have been influenced by Howard Hughes, who after a near fatal airplane accident claimed that freshly hand squeezed orange juice had, in fact, kept him alive during his recovery.
