Mrs. Manstrong is the mother of astronaut Bud Manstrong on The Venture Bros.
Character History
Mrs. Manstrong spends most of the episode Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner drinking and hitting on Brock Samson, though he rebuffs her advances. The rest of the time she appear to control her son via a microchip to try to get President Breyer to do what she wants. It is ultimately revealed that the microchip was actually a piece of equipment from Gargantua-1 that recorded Bud's final moments with Anna Baldavitch before the space station crashed to Earth; Mrs. Manstrong was controlling her son with nothing more than the force of her personality and years of conditioning.
She later appeared in the background of the episode Now Museum-Now You Don't as an attendee at the grand opening of the Jonas Venture Jr. Museum of Jonas Venture on Spider-Skull Island.

- Mrs. Manstrong is a blatant parody of Eleanaor Shaw from Richard Condon's novel "The Manchurian Candidate", who used her son in the same way Mrs. Manstrong controlled Bud in support of the KGB.
