Iggy Pop was a bodyguard of The Sovereign in the world of The Venture Bros. He was based on the real world musician of the same name.
Character History
Iggy Pop and Klaus Nomi escorted The Sovereign to The Monarch's wedding at Cremation Creek. However, after Phantom Limb began his coup it was revealed Iggy and Klaus had defected to Limb's service.
A fight broke out in The Cocoon and Iggy seemingly disintegrated The Sovereign, only leaving behind a pack of French cigarettes. Iggy Pop picked up the pack and later attempted to smoke them on the roof of a Guild Wasp helicopter, though it turned out the cigarette pack was merely a disguise for the shapeshifting Sovereign. The Sovereign assumed his human form and pushed Iggy off the helicopter, where he presumably fell to his death. The Sovereign then assumed Iggy's form to get the jump on Klaus.
It was later revealed that the Guild perform plastic reconstruction on some of their agents to take the place of the world's most powerful people, including Dave Grohl. It's possible that Iggy Pop may have been a Guild agent instead of the original artist.[1]
Powers and Abilities
Iggy Pop demonstrated the ability to conjure and throw spheres of energy that could cause his enemies to "pop" (a pun on his name).

Trivia
- Iggy Pop's superpower--the ability to generate spheres of "raw power" in his hands and remotely detonate them at will as explosions of energy--is nearly identical to that of Tabitha Smith (aka Boom-Boom), a mutant from Marvel Comics who has appeared in New Mutants, Nextwave, X-Factor, X-Force, X-Men, X-Terminators, et al.
- The Monarch calls Iggy "Spicoli", in reference to Jeff Spicoli, the protagonist of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
