The Helper Pod is a device invented by Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture and Venture Techno Industries on The Venture Bros.
Description and History[]
The HelperPod is a personal assistant robot that looks, named, and is modeled on the H.E.L.P.eR. robot, albeit with just his head, and painted white. Rusty, Master Billy Quizboy, and Pete White developed it as part of a strategy to pivot back to making consumer products again after all of their inventions and super-science failed. Typical of their projects and inventions, the HelperPod was full of problems and issues, such as it uncontrollably blasting loud music, levitating off the ground, and being so heavy it can cause serious injury if it fell.
By Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, Rusty is focused on selling the HelperPods as he sees it as the last hope of keeping VenTech from financial ruin. Despite Billy's warnings of it's faults, and The Pirate Captain's warning that the HelperPods will sell at a loss and won't prevent VenTech's bankruptcy, Rusty proceeds with the product launch anyway. He responds to The Pirate Captain's advice by increasing the price, while he responds to Billy and Pete's advice by forcing them to pull an all nighter to fix the problems with the pods.
After The Monarch and Henchman 21 storm VenTech tower, Mantilla, who somehow knew of the HelperPod's flaws, remote activates all of them in the building which act as boosters powerful enough to launch it off of the ground and into outer space. Trapped inside and being driven crazy by the Pod's loud music, Rusty and Sergeant Hatred are at a loss on how to deal with them until they hear from Billy and Pete, who encounter the problem as well while working on it at home until Colonel Gentleman shot and destroyed it. Following Billy and The Colonel's lead, Rusty, Hatred, H.E.L.P.eR., The Monarch, and 21 work together to try and attempt to shoot and destroy all of them, but the Pods also created a massive deadly gravitational field that almost kill them all and make them difficult to destroy. It wasn't until Dr. Mrs. The Monarch convinces Mantilla to turn them off is when they shut down, causing the VenTech tower to plummet down to Earth.

- The HelperPod is based off of Amazon's Alexa. The name and advertising campaign is based off of Apple's marketing for it's products.
- The song that it plays when Rusty tests it is Jacket from Hank and Dermott's band Shallow Gravy.
- This would make it the second time in the show's history that a Helper robot was deemed to be too dangerous for the public.
