|The Venture Bros. character|
Home is Where the Hate is
Psychic abilities, including the ability to induce sleep
The Guild of Calamitous Intent
Sergeant Hatred (friend)
Character History[edit | edit source]
In addition to the Egoist's name, the audio commentary for Home is Where the Hate is reveals he has psychic powers. In the original script, there was supposed to be a scene with he, Hatred, and the Mentalist Villain With Purple Cape riding around in Hatred's jeep together. As originally conceived, Hatred had a limited precognitive ability, and he hung out mostly with mentalists. However, this aspect of Hatred's character was discarded.
The Egoist is a member of both The Guild of Calamitous Intent and the Brimstone Assembly. He has been seen supervising hypnosis training at Guild Strategic Operations. When the Monarch and Henchman 21 called hypnosis a sham, he put both of them to sleep.
Character Description[edit | edit source]
The Egoist was designed to look like The Amazing Criswell, a flamboyant and dramatic American psychic known for his wildly inaccurate predictions. Criswell is best remembered for his role as Narrator in the 1959 Ed Wood movie Plan 9 From Outer Space, commonly considered the "worst film ever made".
